Working with Fire Horse Web Solutions
Fire Horse Web Solutions is committed to providing you the best
solutions given your specific goals and budget and would like to work with
clients with whom I can build an ongoing relationship, therefore, to begin
the process, I believe it's important for you to understand my company and
for me to understand you. Please take a look at the
"About Me" page to get a better idea of who I am and how my company
works.
The Process
1. Project Scope: General discussion with potential client
to discuss project scope and answer their questions.
2. Contract: Using information from the project scope
discussion, I will create a contract for the potential client to review,
approve and sign. An initial deposit (to be subtracted from the
final invoice) is required and the amount will be stated in the contract.
3. Requirements Gathering: Once I have received the
signed contract and deposit I will further define project details and
client preferences. I'll collect any appropriate collateral from the
client (e.g. logo, brochure, flyer, photos) to aid in the design phase of
the project. In complex application development, Joint Application
Design (JAD) sessions may be scheduled with the client's staff.
4. Design Prototype: Using information from the
project scope discussion and requirements gathering, I will create a
design prototype. Some projects will require a home page layout
slightly different than the layout of the rest of the pages in the
web site. In those cases, there will be two web pages in the
design prototype instead of one page. The client may request
changes, but must approve the design prototype before I begin to build the
rest of the web site or web application.
5. Construct the web site or web application: After
the design prototype has been approved, I will build the remainder of the
web pages and/or application according to the project scope in the
contract. If the client is writing their own copy/text for the web
pages, they must provide me with the copy at this point, along with any
additional photos or graphics they wish to be used on the web site.
If the project is a web application, client must provide any necessary
data for the development and testing of the database.
This phase of the project also includes any logistical services the
client may have chosen (e.g. domain name registration or set-up, web
hosting set-up, etc.)
6. Implementation: After the client reviews and
approves the final web site, I will publish the site or application to a
live production server.
7. Training: If the client wishes to maintain their
own web site and has requested training, I will train the client's staff
on how to maintain their site.
8. Web Marketing: If the client has chosen to
include web marketing services, I will begin to market their web site
according to the project scope in the contract.
9. Maintenance: If the client prefers to have me
maintain their site/application, they simply need to communicate their
change requests to me and I'll make the appropriate changes.
All work is billed on an hourly basis unless otherwise noted in the
contract.
Portfolio samples provided upon request.
